Giza · Family-run since 2014
Family-run tours and a guest house 800 metres from the Sphinx, since 2014.
Who we are
I am Rami. I grew up in the shadow of the pyramids in a Bedouin family, and in 2014 a friend asked me to show her the real Egypt. I have been doing it ever since, with my sister Rania and a small team, from our family home in Giza.
We do history properly, we eat with you, and we go to the places the buses do not. Every tip at every site is already paid, so you will not be hassled. And every trip can be changed to fit you.
Our story
Three ways we travel
Inside the third pyramid, the tomb of Irukaptah, the Osireion at Abydos: guides who grew up here and read the walls.
Sufi night in Islamic Cairo, bread baked in the sand with our Bedouin hosts, breakfast cooked by my mother.
Fayoum's whale fossils, Abusir at dusk, Amarna, the White Desert. Places you will have almost to yourself.
Where we go
Every destination below has a page, and most appear in several itineraries. Tap a pin.
All destinationsItineraries
From four days around Cairo to three weeks that end in the White Desert. All prices include tickets, breakfast, lunch, tips at the sites and private transport.
Four days, every must-see, and a rooftop with the pyramids in it
Cairo, the coast, and three nights in Luxor
Cairo, a Nile cruise, a Nubian village and a week by the Red Sea
A five-star hotel, a private Bedouin tent and three nights on your own felucca
Our guest house
Seven rooms in our family home, a rooftop facing the pyramids, and the sound-and-light show from your chair. Every tour starts here.
Your hosts
Rami grew up on the plateau and started hosting travellers in 2014. Rania, his sister, guides too, and many of our solo women guests ask for her. Between them, Kelly and Ehab, there is always someone at the house.

Eight minutes Rami filmed himself, with his guests: from the rooftop in Giza to the temples of Upper Egypt, and the tea, camels, boats and home cooking in between.
Guests
Filmed by guests on the trip itself: on our rooftop, over tea in Khan el-Khalili, and walking Islamic Cairo. Press play.
I found and connected with Rami on Instagram six months before my trip. As a solo female traveller I did everything I wanted, within my budget, and I never once felt unsafe. Rami, Kelly, Ehab and the team were friendly and fun.
I don’t think I have ever met a guide as passionate about their trade and their country as Rami. I stayed at the Pyramids Temple Guest House for the rest of my stay and ate most meals with the family, sitting cross-legged on the floor the Bedouin way.
The view from the terrace is unbeatable. You watch the sound-and-light show on the pyramids from your chair.
The host family’s cooking was a highlight: homemade, especially the wonderful eggplants.
Rami arranged our guide, the airport transfer and a driver for the day. Everything just worked.
Rooms are clean and simple, the family cooks breakfast every day, and you feel at home within an hour.
When you book with Rami’s Insight Tours, make sure you also spend time with Rania. I found myself forming a connection beyond the typical guide-guest relationship.

Less complicated than the internet makes it. Comfort first, a scarf for mosques, a jacket for the desert.
