Visa on arrival at Cairo, step by step
Ten minutes, about $25, and one sticker. Here is the order to do things in.
You will be handed an arrival card on the plane. Fill it in before you land; the only question people get stuck on is the address in Egypt. Write "Pyramids Temple Guest House, Sayed Gabir St, Al Haram, Giza".
In the arrivals hall, before passport control, there is a row of bank windows. Hand over about $25 (or the equivalent in euros or pounds sterling) in cash and you get a visa sticker. Do not join the passport queue first; you will be sent back.
Stick it on an empty page, go to passport control, and your passport is stamped. Collect your bag, walk out, and look for your name on our sign. The whole thing is usually under half an hour.
Some passports need approval in advance. Check your government’s advice before booking flights, and ask us if you are not sure.
